Over the past year, several familiar trends from the past have been resurfacing and pretty much taking over the spotlight. Not so long ago, we reported that bucket hats have made a huge comeback, now we're discussing another trend that's giving us major nostalgia - trucker hats.
Distinguished by its plastic mesh back and foam front, trucker hats used to be the choice head wear of those who worked as mechanics, truckers, farmers, loggers and other laborers. When the early 2000s came, trucker hats became more of a style accessory than a utilitarian tool. It was a big hit among celebrities and the fashion crowd.
Ashton Kutcher, who was hosting popular TV show Punk'd, was dubbed the "Patron Saint of Trucker Hats', thanks to his obsession over the style. He was always wearing a trucker hat with funny statement prints on and off the show.
Because of its ultra laid back design, not everyone is a fan of this hat style. When the trend died down, we did not see it again for a very long time. But then after more than a decade, it seems to be nudging itself back in the spotlight again.
One of the newest trucker hat fans is none other than makeup mogul Kylie Jenner, who has been spotted rocking the old trend. Trucker hats can be a little hard to pull off in this post-Ashton era but we think this is still worth trying out!
